Our partnership with TALiNT Partners has given us the opportunity to network with many industry professionals at a range of events. Our Group Sales Director Daniel Haslam attended the Talent Leaders’ Summit & Lunch in Amsterdam in which the discussion shed light on key insights and trends that are shaping the future of talent acquisition.

The event provided a platform for thought leaders to come together and discuss the transformative strategies and tools that are redefining the talent acquisition landscape.

" What a great day in Amsterdam talking to some of the most prominent people in the Dutch talent attraction scene. What resonated with me most was that the battle for talent is everywhere, and the Netherlands is no different. TA teams are having to look further afield to fulfil roles, and many multinational businesses must ensure they adapt their value proposition to suit each territory. The contingent market is performing very well as companies seek workforce flexibility.”

Data-driven decision-making: beyond numbers

Modern talent acquisition teams rely heavily on data to inform their decisions. However, a central theme at the event was the importance of not just collecting data but starting with the right context. The emphasis was placed on choosing data points and aligning the sharing of insights with the specific needs of stakeholders. In other words, data-driven decision-making is not about amassing data for the sake of it but about using data to solve real-world talent acquisition challenges.

Dynamic employer branding: the ever-evolving art of storytelling

Employer branding is a dynamic field that is in constant evolution. It's not just about creating an external image; it's about crafting a narrative that resonates with both external job seekers and the internal workforce. During the event, experts discussed the significance of adapting your employer brand to the changing times, ensuring it speaks to the heart and soul of your organisation and engages top talent.

Generative AI for TA: ethical AI in talent acquisition

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has been evolving the methods used in the talent acquisition space, and the event highlighted its growing importance. The discussion revolved around the ethical use of AI in talent acquisition and emphasised the need for integrity within the talent acquisition community. As AI becomes more central to the industry, it's essential to hold it accountable for ethical outcomes and ensure that it answers to the tough questions that arise when using this technology.

The contingent workforce: a determined strategy for a Global Talent Marketplace

The contingent workforce is becoming increasingly significant in today's global talent marketplace. Companies are seeking workforce flexibility, and the numbers don't lie: 2.7 million people are in flexible employment, and 1.2 million are self-employed, accounting for roughly 30% of the entire workforce. The event recognised the need for a determined contingent workforce strategy to adapt to the ever-changing landscape of talent acquisition.

Innovative assessment: shaping the future workforce

Innovation in assessment is a game-changer for talent acquisition. The event stressed the essential need to shape your hiring process to unlock the potential of candidates. This involves identifying not only their skills but also their interests and motivations. By doing so, you can build a workforce that's not only qualified but also engaged and passionate about their work.

Bi-cultural talent: a global opportunity

One unique opportunity discussed at the event is the untapped potential of bi-cultural talent, that is having or combining the cultural attitudes and customs of two nations, peoples, or ethnic groups, not just in the Netherlands but globally. With an increasingly diverse workforce, organisations are recognising the value of individuals with cross-cultural experiences and backgrounds, offering a fresh perspective and a unique skill set.

A quote from Daniel Haslam - Group Sales Director at Giant Group

"What a great day in Amsterdam talking to some of the most prominent people in the Dutch talent attraction scene.

The Talent Leaders Summit & Lunch in Amsterdam underscored the importance of adaptability and innovation in the world of talent acquisition. These key takeaways and insights are not just relevant for the Dutch talent attraction scene but are shaping the future of talent acquisition on a global scale.
