MSPs screening services webinar

Key Topics Discussed:

1. Different types of onboarding and pre-employment check models for Vendor-neutral MSP:

Mat Armstrong began by outlining the various models available for Vendor-neutral MSP to manage onboarding and pre-employment checks, along with their benefits and drawbacks:

In-house: Vendor-neutral MSP conduct background checks themselves, offering more control but requiring specialised staff and resources, potentially being time-consuming and expensive.

managed services: Vendor-neutral MSP partner with third-party providers, offering cost-effectiveness and expertise but with less control over the process.

as-a-service: Vendor-neutral MSP use cloud-based platforms for scalability, cost-effectiveness, and up-to-date technology.

hybrid: A blend of in-house and managed services, providing more control than as-a-service but potentially being more complex.

When choosing a model, consider compliance, accuracy, turnaround time, customer service, industry-specific regulations, budget, and specific client needs.

2. The role of recruitment suppliers

Dan spoke about how Vendor-neutral MSP sometimes delegate screening tasks to recruitment suppliers, which can lead to inconsistencies in the candidate experience, inaccuracies, and additional auditing for the Vendor-neutral MSP. He emphasised the benefits of centralising screening with a single provider to streamline the onboarding process, improve accountability, and reduce time-to-hire.
